How to Get There from Alto Hotel
The Convention and Exhibition Centre is only 5-6 minutes' walk from Alto Hotel on Bourke; as you leave the hotel, please turn right into Bourke St and walk 100 meters to the corner of Spencer St.
Turn left into Spencer St. and walk 400 meters to Flinders St., now cross the Spencer St. Bridge over the Yarra River and you have arrived, the MCEC is on your right, opposite Crown Casino.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT, from Alto Hotel and everywhere else
ARRIVING BY TRAM
Tram numbers 96 and 109 travel down Spencer/Clarendon streets and stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of the MCEC.
Tram numbers 48 and 70 stop at the end of Flinders Street. Walk towards the Yarra River, across the new pedestrian bridge.
ARRIVING BY TAXI
Taxis take 40 minutes from the airport and cost around $60.
Drop off points are at 1 Convention Centre Place or 2 Clarendon Street, South Wharf.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN
Take the train to Southern Cross Station. Take Tram numbers 96 or 109 travel past Southern Cross Station down Spencer/Clarendon Streets and stop opposite the MCEC.
ARRIVING BY BUS
From Monday to Friday, bus route 237 goes via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street, which is roughly a five-minute walk to MCEC.
FROM/TO MELBOURNE AIRPORT: you can also catch the Skybus, which has a service called the Southbank Docklands Express that stops at the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC. Receive 5% discount on purchasing tickets online by entering the promotional code 'MCEC'.
