Southbank is one of the most visited areas of Melbourne and an absolute 'must do' when holidaying in our beautiful city.
This area is generally considered to stretch from the Princess Bridge in the western end, to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in the East.

On Sundays there is a very popular craft market under Princess Bridge.
Southbank is only 6 to 7 minutes' walk from Alto Hotel on Bourke; as you leave the hotel, please turn left into Bourke St and walk 60 meters to the corner of King St., turn right down King St. and walk approximately 400 meters to Flinders St., now cross the King St. Bridge over the Yarra River and you are there.
TRAM
As you leave Alto Hotel, walk right down Bourke St to the tram stop, it is only 40 meters away and easily seen from our front door. Take Tram number 96, it will turn left down Spencer St. and stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of Crown
